Time to get inspired and organized

Time to get inspired and organized

Once engaged, it was time to begin planning our own big day!  For inspiration I of course search online - pinterest etc., but my favorite way to search for inspiration is to browse magazines.  I love being able to mark up the pages and rip the pages out.  I brought several pages from various magazines to our different vendor appointments.  This works perfect because the vendors are able to see a visual while we describe what we have in mind.

Throughout our engagement Tyler and I have been able to stay relaxed and have so much fun with the planning because we are staying organized.  Early on, my mom surprised us with a personalized wedding planner.  I carry it everywhere and I don't know what I would do without it!

The planner allows us to check in with a suggested time line, as well as document all of our appointments. LOVE!

We started off filing all wedding related papers into a small manila folder.  This quickly overflowed and became a mess.  We bought a filing accordion with tabs.

We keep the magazines, wedding planner and filing accordion all in a small basket.  Everything is organized and ready to go if we need to reference something or take it with us to an appointment!

Staying organized = Less stress <3

Our Proposal

Our Proposal

I am still speechless about Tyler and my proposal.  Tyler kept the planning of the proposal a secret for months.  He started planning and meeting with a jeweler in June and proposed on Friday, September 27, 2013.  We went out to dinner three days prior for our anniversary and I thought Tyler might propose.  Tyler knows me well and knew I would be thinking that - so he did not.  Tyler caught me completely off guard and the proposal was a complete surprise.  I walked into our apartment from work and heard You're the Inspiration by Chicago playing (this has always been our song).  As soon as I heard the music, I froze at the door.  I knew what was about to happen, but I thought to myself - could this really be happening?  This only happens once...I am in gym clothes...Ahh!

For those of you who know Tyler well, you know he puts 110% effort into any goal he sets.  The proposal was no exception.  Tyler thought of every detail from every angle for our proposal.  He sat on our kitchen counter for three hours waiting for me to get home - just in case I got out of work early.  He custom designed my ring and hand picked out the most perfect diamond.  He engraved and personalized a leather book for us - in our wedding colors.  He filled the pages with hand written notes and photos of us.  He made us dinner reservations and reservations to stay the night - at 8:30pm giving me plenty of time to make phone calls and time to get out of my gym clothes and shower and get ready.

Our proposal was the perfect foundation for the start of the next chapter in our lives.

About Us

About Us

Tyler caught my eye in Mr. Mitchell's 7th grade math class.  I had the biggest crush.  In 8th grade we exchanged Christmas gifts (which we both still have) and in 9th grade Tyler officially asked me to be his girlfriend on September 24, 2004.  The rest is history!  Nine years later and here we are planning our wedding!  Tyler and I could not be happier!
